"My name is Laxman Singh-Swali and I am 25 years old. I have been fully pursuing acting for over a year now and in that time I have had various roles. I have been in commercials, music videos, been a supporting artist and I’m currently par-taking in intensive acting classes on a weekly basis. These classes are purely focused on acting for screen as that is my main passion. I’m currently looking to gain as much experience as I can, to hone the skills that I have learnt. That is why I saw “Worthless Woman” as an ideal opportunity for me.

The first time that I read the script I was shocked. As I never realised practises such as female foeticide still went on. When I conducted further research myself on the topic, I was horrified and also disappointed that such an important and serious topic is not given the attention that it needs.
I knew I had to prepare for the role to the best of my ability to give this film the credibility it deserves. As I was playing the role of Sukhi who wanted to carry out such a horrific act, I needed to really get myself into a nasty and selfish frame of mind. Hopefully, I have done this and this film is given the exposure that it needs.

The script in itself and the directing on this piece have both been fantastic and without these two components, it would not have been as powerful as it is."
